PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pentosan polysulfate having activity suitable for medicinal use.SOLUTION: There is provided a pentosan polysulfate having a weight-average molecular weight of 5000 or less and an acetyl group content of 0 to 2.0 mass% or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt or a pharmaceutically acceptable solvate thereof.
