PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bone anchoring nail which can be connected with an external stabilization rod or a rod-shaped element and inserted more quickly with a force smaller than a widely known device, while providing fixability as secure as screws.SOLUTION: A bone anchoring nail is provided with: threadless shafts (1,1) having a free end (2) heads (3, 3) opposite to the free end having a substantially U-shaped recess (7) for accommodating the rod (12) or the rod-shaped element a longitudinal bore (4) extending through the shaft and opening towards at least the heads (3, 3) or the free end (2), and a plurality of openings (5) extending through the wall face of the shaft and communicating to the bore (4).
