PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stem for an artificial hip joint, which is excellent in insertability when inserted into a thigh bone, which can avoid becoming a factor for bone fracture after surgery and which can restrain stress shielding from occurring over a wide range, and the artificial hip joint comprising the same.SOLUTION: A stem 1 for an artificial hip joint comprises a proximal part 2 that is made of a metallic material, and a distal part 3 that is made of a bone-resorptive material.
