A sterilization gas feeding cycle A consisting of pressure reducing processes A1 and B1 for reducing the pressure in a chamber 11 in which the packaging container 1 is stored, a sterilization gas feeding process A2 for feeding hydrogen peroxide into the chamber 11 and pressure recovering processes A3 and B2 for returning the pressure in the chamber 11 reduced by feeding of hydrogen peroxide is executed, and after the cycle A, a pressure reducing/recovering cycle B consisting of the pressure reducing processes A1 and B1 for reducing the recovered pressure in the chamber 11 and the pressure recovering processes A3 and B2 for recovering the reduced pressure in the chamber 11 without feeding hydrogen peroxide to the chamber 11 is executed at least once.
