The invention relates to a hand-held screening device for remote ophthalmic diagnostics. The device comprises a substantially closed chamber provided With an eye facing side. The device also comprises a concave mirror element located in said chamber so as to reflect an image of the eye along an optical path in the chamber back towards the eye facing side of the chamber, allowing a subject to focus on his or her own eye.
