Disclosed herein are compounds of formula (I) where the substituents are as defined herein. Also disclosed are pharmaceutical compositions containing them, methods for their preparation, the use of these compounds in medicine and the intermediates involved in their preparation. The compounds are suitable for the treatment of diseases and conditions such as hyperlipidemia and dyslipidemia. Particular examples of the compounds of formula I include 2-(4-(4-methyl-5-(p-tolyl)isoxazol-3-yl)phenoxy)-N-((tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yl)methyl)acetamide and 2-(4-(2-(4-chlorophenyl)-4-methylthiazol-5-yl)phenoxy)-N-((tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yl)methyl)acetamide.
