PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pet food containing whole wheat flour very preferred by pets, having suppressive or preventive function of elevation of a blood sugar level, anti-obesity or anti-fat function, and the like, smoothly produced by using easily available raw material, in favorable formability, workability, processability and productivity, at low costs.
SOLUTION: The pet food is produced by: adding 35-65 mass% of whole wheat flour to the total mass of a pet food raw material and adding 14-50 pts.mass of rice flour to 100 pts.mass of the whole wheat flour. A method for producing the pet food is provided in the present invention.
