PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which uses a surface material having a high concealing property and being bulky.SOLUTION: A two-layered air-through bond nonwoven fabric comprising an upper layer 2 and a lower layer 3 is used as a surface material 1 for use in a sanitary napkin or the like. Fibers constituting the lower layer 3 of the nonwoven fabric contain a larger quantity of titanium oxide than fibers constituting the upper layer 2, or the fibers constituting the lower layer 3 do not contain titanium oxide. Hence, the upper layer 2 is smooth and soft while the lower layer 3 is bulky and provides sufficient cushioning.COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO【課題】 吸収性物品の表面材において、表面の隠蔽性を高くするために酸化チタンを含有させると、繊維の伸び率が高くなり、表面材に嵩高さを出させることは難しかった。【解決手段】 生理用ナプキンなどに用いられる表面材1として、上層2と下層3との2層構造のエアスルーボンド不織布を使用する。この不織布は、下層3を構成する繊維が、上層2を構成する繊維よりも、酸化チタンを多く含んでいるか、あるいは下層3を構成する繊維が酸化チタンを含んでいない。よって上層2は滑らかで柔らかく、下層3は嵩高でクッション性に富むものとなる。
