The present invention relates to an apparatus for irradiating skin with light for preventing a users eyes from being exposed to medical light. An apparatus for irradiating skin with light according to the present invention comprises an input unit for a user input, a light source unit including light sources of at least two colors and configured to irradiate the skin of a user with medical light, a contact sensor provided at periphery of the light source unit, and a controller configured to control an intensity of the light radiated from the light source unit according to whether skin contact is detected by the contact sensor, wherein the controller controls the intensity of the light from the light source unit in at least two stages before and after the skin contact is detected. Therefore, the present invention has an advantage in which safety is improved because the users eyes are not exposed to high-intensity medical light.
