PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distal end part of an endoscope, smoothly opening/closing a treatment instrument inside a distal end hood preventing a link mechanism from hitting the distal end hood if such a treatment instrument as to be opened/closed by the link mechanism is used.
SOLUTION: In the distal end part of the endoscope, a treatment instrument projecting port 6 is disposed to open forward in the vicinity of the outer edge 1b of the distal end face 1a of a distal end body 1. The distal end part has the distal end hood 10 having a cylindrical attaching part 10a and a hood part 10b. The cylindrical attaching part 10a surrounds the whole circumference of the outer surface of the distal end body 1 to be detachably attached to the distal end body 1. The hood part 10b projects forward from the cylindrical attaching part 10a. In the hood part 10b of the distal end hood 10, a notched part 11 is formed by continuously notching a wall part in the direction adjacent to the treatment instrument projecting port 6 from the most distal end to the position in the rear of the distal end face 1a of the distal end body 1.
