Disclosed are eyeglasses and a corresponding method for providing vision correction using eyeglasses. The eyeglasses comprise an electro-active lens； a switch adapted to produce a signal in response to movement of a user's head； and a controller operably connected to the electro-active lens for receiving the signal from the switch and changing a refractive index of the electro-active lens. Said switch may be controlled by an accelerometer or microgyroscope so as to produce the signal in response to movement of a user's head.
