PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suture needle improved in piercing property by reducing piercing resistance in piercing a biological tissue.SOLUTION: In this suture needle, a cutting edge part 5 of a needle tip part 3 of a needle body 1 is formed in a triangular or other polygonal cross section, and the cutting edge part of the needle tip part comprises a cutting edge 6. The cutting edge 6 is formed by polishing a ground cutting edge 60 formed by grounding, by jet machining with a polishing material 7 formed by mixing and dispersing abrasive grains 7b in a base material 7a formed of an elastic body.
