摘要:
An atomizing nozzle (62) structured particularly for nasal therapy. Preferred embodiments include a 2-piece atomizing nozzle (62) structured to couple with luer-locking structure carried by a syringe (102). Such an atomizing nozzle (62) includes a nasal stopper (110, 138) and a stem (112, 142). A preferred nasal stopper (110, 138) includes a distal tip (202) sized for insertion into a nostril of a human child, with a proximal shield (106, 116) portion being structured to resist over-insertion of a discharge orifice (118) into the nostril. A nasal stopper (110, 138) desirably provides a centering function to urge the discharge orifice (118) away from a nasal wall. One operable stem (112, 142) is structured to couple with the stopper (72) and desirably carries unitary thread (70) structure at a proximal end (130). A second operable stem (112, 142) is structured as a unitary part of the nasal stopper (110, 138) and also desirably carries unitary thread (70) structure at a proximal end (130). Certain embodiments may also include spacer structure configured to reduce a dead volume (152) inside the atomizing nozzle (62). Other embodiments may also include spacer structure configured to reduce dead volume (152) inside a syringe (102) that is coupled to the atomizing nozzle (62).
