The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for supporting an ultrasonic inspection, configured to provide, in real time, information about anatomical elements existing in a body part on which an ultrasonic inspection is currently carried out. The apparatus for supporting an ultrasonic inspection comprises: an ultrasonic image acquiring unit configured to acquire an ultrasonic image with respect to a body part that is inspected by ultrasonic waves； an analysis data providing unit configured to store and manage analysis data in which information about names, imaging features, and locations of the anatomical elements is defined by each body part, and acquire and provide analysis data with respect to the body part that is inspected by ultrasonic waves； an anatomical element detection unit configured to identify anatomical elements existing in the ultrasonic image by analyzing the ultrasonic image on the basis of the analysis data； an indexing unit configured to acquire indexing information corresponding to the anatomical elements, respectively； and an inspection support image providing unit configured to generate and provide an inspection support image in which the ultrasonic image is overlaid with the indexing information. According to the present invention, a user without professional knowledge is able to precisely identify anatomical elements in a body part that is currently inspected.본 발명은 현재 초음파 검사 진행 중인 신체 부위내에 존재하는 해부학적 요소에 대한 정보를 실시간 제공할 수 있도록 하는 초음파 검사 지원 장치 및 방법에 관한 것으로, 초음파 검사 부위에 대한 초음파 영상을 획득하는 초음파 영상 획득부； 해부학적 요소들의 명칭, 영상 특징, 및 위치 정보가 신체 부위별로 정의된 분석 데이터를 저장 및 관리하면서, 현재 초음파 검사 부위에 대한 분석 데이터를 획득 및 제공하는 분석 데이터 제공부； 상기 분석 데이터를 기반으로 상기 초음파 영상을 분석하여 상기 초음파 영상내에 존재하는 해부학적 요소들을 파악하는 해부학적 요소 검출부； 상기 해부학적 요소 각각에 대응되는 인덱싱 정보를 획득하는 인덱싱부； 및 상기 인덱싱 정보를 상기 초음파 영상에 오버레이시킨 검사 지원 영상을 생성 및 제공하는 검사 지원 영상 제공부를 포함할 수 있다.
