The present invention relates to an improved multi-insect repellent spray or cream formulation comprising of diethylphenyl acetamide (DEPA) as an active component along with other cosmetically acceptable ingredients and the invention also relates to a process for the preparation of said formulation(s) by mixing DEOPA with other cosmetically acceptable ingredients at a temperature ranging from room temperature 80 degree centigrade and filling it in a suitable container.
