A permeable and flexible substrate used notably for the creation of turfed sporting grounds comprises coconut fibers (1-5 weight %) and a granular material such as sand, as well as porous material such as pozzolana and organic material such as compost. Preferred Features: The granular material is a non-calcareous sand of granulometry 0/2, and represents 75-80 weight % of the substrate. The porous mineral material comprises 15-25 weight % of the substrate. The organic material represents about 1 % of the dry weight of the substrate. An Independent claim is given for utilization of the substrate for the creation or the renewal of turfed sports grounds.
