The magnifying system (5) of the protective mask (1) according to the invention occupies a first more central portion of the visual field of the user with a minimum focussing distance equal to or less than 10 meters. The screen (3) covers the eyes of the user allowing a more peripheral vision. The screen (3) and the sealing system, together with other possible components of the mask, form a casing that completely encloses and isolates from the external environment the users eyes and the area of the face adjacent to the eyes, forming a barrier that prevents solid or liquid projections such as, for example, solid fragments, splashes, drops or aerosol particles to penetrate into the mask (1, 1′) and reach the users eyes.
