The invention relates to a spinach plant which carries a genetic determinant that leads to the multileaf trait and which plant has at least 1.25times as many leaves as a plant not carrying the multileaf trait wherein said trait is obtainable by introgression from a multileaf spinach plant representative seed of which was deposited with the NCIMB under accession number NCIMB 41619. The invention further relates to progeny of the plant as well as propagation material, in particular seeds, for the production of plants that carry the multileaf trait.L'invention porte sur un épinard qui porte un déterminant génétique qui conduit au caractère à feuilles multiples, lequel épinard a au moins 1,25 fois autant de feuilles qu'un végétal ne portant pas le caractère à feuilles multiples, ledit caractère pouvant être obtenu par introgression, à partir d'un épinard à feuilles multiples, d'une graine représentative de ce qui a été déposé avec le NCIMB sous le numéro d'enregistrement NCIMB 41619. L'invention porte en outre sur la descendance du végétal et sur un matériau de reproduction, en particulier des graines, pour la production de végétaux qui portent le caractère à feuilles multiples.
