PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root vegetable digging machine, the root vegetables that are yams and the like, in which a pull-out error can be eliminated and the digging work can be performed smoothly.SOLUTION: A root vegetable digging machine is provided in which a digging-out body 3 having a sloped surface is made to pass in the lower part of root vegetables of yams, and thereby the root vegetables of yams are made to rise and be dug up. The digging-out body 3 is provided with a blade part 3d of a rear-up slope included in the front part, a main body of the digging-out body having a slope extended from the rear end of the blade part 3d to the rear side and with an upper surface coming up as reaching backward from the front, and a rocking plate 4 vertically rocking in left and right directions being perpendicular to the traveling direction at the rear end of the main body of the digging-out body.
