The present invention is directed to a planter with seed meters withacceleratorwheel systems. Each accelerator wheel system receives singulated seeds from arespective seed meter and spaces the seeds with respect to each other tocorrect timingand thus spacing anomalies of seeds being released from seed disks of the seedmeters atincorrect seed disk release events and to adjust the velocity of the seeds tocorrespond toplanter travel speed for releasing the seeds to drop straight down onto thefield, without ahorizontal velocity. Spacing and timing is also improved by reducing deliveryvariationtypically attributable to bounce down a seed tube by instead smoothlyrotationallyredirecting seeds from a generally downward delivery direction from a seeddisk to agenerally horizontal delivery direction out of the accelerator wheel system,opposite thetractor and implement travel direction.
