For allowing an access to an eye during a rinsing process it is suggested to configure an eye opening device (100) in such a way that the eye opening device comprises two wing-like spreading elements (10, 11) for pulling the upper eyelid and the lower eyelid of the eye apart so as to support the opening of the eye during a rinsing process, wherein two access gaps (21a, 21b) are formed laterally between the two wing-like spreading elements of the eye opening device.
