Provided is an Asplenium nidus extract for preparing a drug or health food for improving prostate diseases comprising pyropheophorbide acid a methyl ester pheophorbide a methyl ester 1 linoleic acid 3 linolenic acid glyceride 1 linolenic acid 2 3 bispalmitic acid glyceride and 1 3 bispalmitic acid glyceride. The Asplenium nidus extract is prepared by a method comprising the following steps: a step of solvent extraction i.e. using an extraction solvent to extract an Asplenium nidus sample to enable the weight to volume ratio (w/v g/ml) between the Asplenium nidus sample and the extraction solvent to be 50 to 60 g/ml and obtaining an extract through recovery and a step of column chromatography using water and ethanol as the mobile phase to preform chromatographic separation on the extract to obtain several fractions numbering the fractions as segment a to segment i according to the sequence of elution selecting segments b c and d or a composition thereof and obtaining the Asplenium nidus extract after concentrating under reduced pressure and freeze drying.
