The invention relates to an apparatus for supplying and harvesting, using up a large surface area, in greenhouses, having longitudinally running travelling rails and a travelling platform which can move thereon. In the case of said apparatus, said travelling platform is designed with a transverse conveyor to which the planting stock is fed by a planting-stock supplier 28 which supplies said stock from the side. The position and length of the planting-stock conveying line can be set on the vertically adjustable travelling platform with the aid of a transversely adjustable planting-stock conveying stop. Preferably, the planting stock passes from a central supply point in the path of the greenhouse onto the transverse conveyor of the travelling platform via a transversely running feed conveyor and a lateral longitudinal conveyor, having been deflected twice through 90 DEG . Instead, said travelling platform may also be displaced to a central, stationary supply unit which overlaps with the transverse conveyor owing to a supply conveyor which is similar to the longitudinal conveyor, but is short. Said transverse conveyor may, in particular in this case, also be configured with a plurality of parallel conveying lines in order to reduce the idle times which arise, in particular, in the case of discontinuous conveying operations. The travelling platform can be displaced extremely rapidly since the planting stock is arranged securely on the transverse conveyor. <IMAGE>
