PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hair dye having excellent water resistance, usability and cumulative hair dyeability and to provide an applicator for the hair using the same.SOLUTION: The hair dye comprises 0.1-3.0 wt.% of an aqueous acid dye, 0.1-2.5 wt.% calculated as a solid content of a terpolymer represented by formula, a hair dye auxiliary, a lower alcohol and water and has a pH of 2-4.
