To make it possible to obtain appropriate volume data from frame data strings obtained by the MANUAL scan of a probe.
SOLUTION: In the probe 10, a first scan surface and a second scan surface in orthogonal relation are repeatedly formed. A correlation part 18 executes an inter-frame correlation operation to tomographic image data corresponding to the first scan surface and a correlation part 20 executes the inter-frame correlation operation to tomographic image data corresponding to the second scan surface. A vector operation part 22 computes three-dimensional motion information between frames ON the basis of two correlation operation results and that includes parallel motion information and rotary motion information. A series of tomographic image data strings obtained accompanying the MANUAL scan are mapped ON a storage space ON the basis of the three-dimensional motion information obtained for each frame and thus the volume data are configured.
