This disclosure describes a flexible-rigid hybrid design of an endoscope and attachment mechanism for removably attaching and detaching the endoscope to the handle and/or tool portions of a variety of different instruments. Some implementations describe the design of instruments that can be coupled to the flexible-rigid endoscopes or other endoscopes described herein. Such devices may include sinus and laryngeal forceps, laryngeal syringe guns, endoscopic Eustachio tube balloon dilators, endoscopic tracheal dilators and endoscopic oral esophageal balloon dilators.
