The present application is directed to an improved oral cavity manipulator (1)including at least one pair of oppositely disposed teeth engaging elements (2,3) adapted to be located on or over the teeth on opposite sides of the oral cavityand a tongue depression means (4) interconnecting rear portions of the at leastone pair of teeth engaging elements (2, 3), wherein the tongue depression means(4) urges against a surface portion of the users tongue, close to the throat,when the manipulator is operatively positioned so that the tongue is displaceddownwardly and forwardly to substantially avoid obstruction of airways.
