Es wird ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des physischen und/oder psychischen Zustands eines Probanden gezeigt, in dem dessen Herzratenvariabilität (HRV) einer Analyse im Zeitbereich unterzogen wird, bei welcher Analyse wenigstens eine Häufigkeitsverteilung von in mindestens einem Untersuchungszeitraum (1) aufgenommenen Interbeat-Intervallen (IBI) untersucht wird. Um hierfür eine besonders aussagekräftige und schnell zu interpretierende Informationen zu erhalten, wird vorgeschlagen, dass die Häufigkeitsverteilung auf eine multimodale Verteilung hin untersucht wird.The invention relates to a method for determining the physical and/or psychological state of a subject.
