PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disinfectant composition and a disinfecting method effectively destroying gram-negative bacteria adhering to textile products.SOLUTION: The disinfectant composition contains a zinc compound, compounds of formula (b1) and (b2), a peroxide and a peracid precursor. In formula (b1), X11 to X14 are each independently a hydrogen atom, alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or cationic ammonium R is a hydrogen atom or hydroxy and n1 is an integer of 0 or 1.
