A prosthetic device for a heart valve having a valve portion selectively expandable from a folded shape for implantation to an expanded operating configuration and provided with an artificial valve leaflet capable of reproducing a leaflet function of a natural heart valve. The prosthesis also comprises a constraint which surrounds the valve portion and restrains expansion in the actuated expanded configuration. The prosthesis also includes a connection for stably connecting the valve portion to the constraint via a connecting member.
