PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide antibodies and immunologically functional fragments thereof that specifically bind DKK1 polypeptides.SOLUTION: The invention provides an isolated antibody or fragment thereof that cross-blocks the binding of an antibody including a specific sequence to human DKK1 and/or is cross-blocked from binding to human DKK1 by the antibody including the specific sequence. The invention also provides an isolated antibody or fragment thereof that specifically binds to a discontinuous epitope in specific amino acids 221-236 and/or 246-262 and inhibits human DKK1 activity.
