PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-assemble imaging unit having a simple and compact structure, and an endoscope.SOLUTION: The imaging unit includes an imaging element, an objective lens and a prism with a reflection surface. The imaging unit further includes: an overhanging part where the imaging element overhangs rearward from the prism a terminal part disposed in the overhanging part a flexible printed wiring board extended along the prism and the overhanging part an imaging element connection terminal part formed in a surface of the flexible printed wiring board facing the overhanging part and a cable connection terminal part formed in a part of the flexible printed wiring board extending over the overhanging part. The terminal part and the imaging element connection terminal part are connected to face each other.
