PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a greening material suitable for sprouting and growing plants more rapidly than composting with an easy and practical treatment through improving various problems which vegetable fiber conventionally has so as to effectively use vegetable fiber toward greening.SOLUTION: This greening material excellent in sprouting and growing plants is obtained by treating vegetable fiber in a condition of moderately having water in gap, using ammonia of vapor phase so as to let the vegetable fiber hold ammonia through water on the surface and modify a matter which inhibits plant growth, such as tannin, a phenol-based matter and refine oil.COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT【課題】緑化に向けた植物繊維質の有効利用を図るため、植物繊維質が従来抱えていた諸問題を改善し、植物の発芽および生育に好適な緑化資材を、簡便かつ実用的な処理で、堆肥化よりも迅速に提供する。【解決手段】気相のアンモニアを用いて、空隙に水が適度にある状態の植物繊維質を処理することで、表面の水分を介して植物繊維質にアンモニアを保持させるとともに、タンニンやフェノール系物質、精油など、植物の生育を阻害する物質を改質することができ、植物の発芽および生育に良好な緑化資材が提供できる。【選択図】図5
