PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce further the weights of a fishing rod reel seat and a fishing rod having the reel seat.SOLUTION: A cylindrical hood 16 for a fishing rod reel seat comprises: a leg holding portion 56, into which the end portion of a reel leg is inserted and in which a part in a circumferential direction bulges radially outward at one end side in the rod axis direction to hold the end portion and a plurality of reinforced fiber layers formed into a cylindrical shape by overlapping both side edge parts of a prepreg having reinforced fibers impregnated with a resin.
