A liquid drug delivery device and method is described wherein the device may comprise a piezoelectric actuator having a piezoelectric tip operably connected to a drug package under preload force. The actuating device is configured to generate sound pressure within the medication package and to dispense droplets or continuous flow of medicament from the hole, eg, to the corneal surface of the eye. The piezoelectric actuating device is removable from the drug package via a connecting mechanism capable of quickly separating and steadily fixing the drug package to the actuating device and receptacle.
