The invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising, in a cosmetically acceptable medium: (i) from 0.2% to 10% by weight of one or more compounds selected from ellagic acid, ethers thereof, ellagic acid salts and ellagic acid ether salts, and mixtures thereof, and (ii) a system of surfactants selected from the following mixtures comprising: (iii) one or more anionic surfactants selected from ethoxylated alkyl sulphates, the corresponding acids, and mixtures thereof, and (iv) one or more anionic surfactants different from the abovementioned anionic surfactant(s) (iii), and (v) one or more anionic surfactants and (vi) one or more amphoteric or zwitterionic surfactants, in a weight ratio of the amount of anionic surfactant(s) to the amount of amphoteric or zwitterionic surfactant(s) of greater than 3.
