PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open MRI apparatus with wide opening height without sharply changing the magnet side and with similar operability as that of a conventional berth by thinning a top plate in the open MRI apparatus.SOLUTION: The MRI apparatus is constituted of MRI which includes: an open magnet, a subject a gradient magnetic field coil a transmission/reception coil a transmission/reception system a gradient magnetic field power source and a computer. The apparatus has a thin top plate which can be floated from a base by air pressure, and a berth base which constrains a moving direction and moving distance of the top plate.
