A microcapsule comprising a wax encapsulating an essential oil wherein the wax is a naturally occurring wax having a melting point above 60 o C wherein the microcapsule comprises 5-25% by weight of the essential oil wherein the microcapsule has an average diameter of 5-1000 microns and wherein the microcapsule is a matrix type microcapsule in which the essential oil is distributed uniformly within the wax.La présente invention concerne un microcapsule comprenant une cire encapsulant une huile essentielle, la cire étant une cire dorigine naturelle ayant un point de fusion supérieur à 60 °C, la microcapsule comprenant 5 à 25 % en poids de ladite huile essentielle, la microcapsule ayant un diamètre moyen de 5 à 1 000 micromètres et la microcapsule étant une microcapsule de type matrice dans laquelle lhuile essentielle est répartie uniformément à lintérieur de la cire.
