The present disclosure generally relates to pharmaceutically acceptable herbal composition effective for control of hypertension. The composition further essentially comprises of at least a part of Dryopteris cycadina, as active ingredient along with additional herb and at least one pharmaceutically acceptable carrier and solvents for control of hypertension and as a prophylaxis against associated cardiovascular diseases. The present disclosure further provides process of preparing such herbal composition for treatment of high blood pressure.
