PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial floating island intended for solving such problems that an artificial floating island made of concrete aims at water quality purifying action and scenery protection through floating on a water surface and growing plants, but components necessary for plant growth become a cause of water contamination, it takes long period to grow, and there are many cases when plants wither before sufficiently growing, and water quality purifying ability depending on organic matter decomposing action of microorganisms living in roots and stem surroundings of aquatic plants and porous space of a floating island body is low and unstable, and also it is necessary to make an artificial floating island made of concrete lightweight and have a continuous void structure through mixing concrete with a foaming resin aggregate, and a floating island becomes structurally very weak and easy to damage. SOLUTION: This artificial floating island is a vegetation base to grow plants through floating on a water surface concrete blocks forming continuous voids by mixing a foaming body.
