PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breakage of a component due to intrusion of foreign matter to a hedge trimmer.SOLUTION: The hedge trimmer includes: a pair of shear blades； a motor for driving the pair of shear blades； a crank mechanism which converts rotational power of the motor to reciprocating motion of the pair of shear blades； an inside housing which houses the motor and crank mechanism and to which the pair of shear blades are attached； and an outside housing which houses the inside housing and which is provided with a handle portion to be held by a user. The inside housing includes an intake opening and a discharge opening for cooling, at least one of the intake opening and the discharge opening being covered with the outside housing.
