In order for an instruction to be issued to an ultrasonic diagnostic device in response to fine movement of a probe, an ultrasonic diagnostic device is provided with a reception unit 20 for generating a reception signal based on ultrasonic waves reflected by a subject 18 and received by a probe 14, a stasis determination unit 38 for determining on the basis of the reception signal whether the probe 14 is at rest on the subject 18, a period setting unit 55 for setting a receiving period from the time of stasis determination until a predetermined time has elapsed each time a stasis determination that the probe 14 is at rest is made, a movement detection unit 30 for detecting movement of the probe 14 on the basis of the reception signal, and an instruction generating unit 50 for issuing an instruction corresponding to the movement of the probe 14 to the ultrasonic diagnostic device when movement of the probe 14 is detected within the receiving period.
