The present invention relates to a method for screening a preventing or treating agent of inflammation using a Sophora flavescens extract and, more specifically, to a method for screening an anti-inflammatory substance hindering the activity of NF-&kappa；B/IKK&alpha；/&beta； and inflammasome/caspase-1. The method for screening the anti-inflammatory substance using the Sophora flavescens extract can screen inflammation response via the hindrance of the activity of the NF-&kappa；B/IKK&alpha；/&beta； and the inflammasome/caspase-1 as well as general inflammation response to be useful in preventing an inflammation disease or developing a treatment agent, effectively. The method for screening the preventing or treating agent of the inflammation comprises the steps of: (a) processing each of candidate substances hindering the activity of the pro-caspase-1 by adjusting the inflammasome, and the Sophora flavescens extract in a cell expressing pro-caspase-1； (b) measuring the activity of the pro-caspase-1 adjusted by the inflammasome of a group resulted from processing the candidate substance hindering the activity of the pro-caspase-1 by adjusting the inflammasome and a group resulted from processing the Sophora flavescens extract； and comparing the candidate substance processing group with the Sophora flavescens extract processing group to select the candidate substance among the candidate substance processing group, of which the activity of the pro-caspase-1 adjusted by the inflammasome is similar or hindered, as the inflammation preventing or treating agent.본 발명은 고삼(Sophora) 추출물을 이용한 염증 예방 또는 치료제의 스크리닝 방법에 관한 것으로, NF-κB/IKKα/β 및 inflammasome/caspase-1의 활성을 저해하는 함염증 물질의 스크리닝 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 고삼 추출물을 이용한 항염증 물질의 스크리닝 방법은 일반적인 염증반응 뿐만 아니라 NF-κB/IKKα/β 및 inflammasome/caspase-1의 활성 저해를 통한 염증반응까지 스크리닝할 수 있어, 효과적인 염증질환 예방 또는 치료제의 개발에 유용하다.
