Compositions and methods for treating diseases depending on the tissue factor / factor VIIa signaling in a mammalian subject is provided. The method comprises administering to a mammalian subject an inhibitor of tissue factor signaling. Inhibitors are effective in reducing the occurrence of disease in a mammalian subject.
