The invention relates to an aqueous-alcoholic extract of the pericarp of Quinoa Chenopodium Quinoa Willd seed, more particularly Sacaca and Marangani varieties comprising mainly saponin-type compounds to stimulate the biological effect of cutaneous moisturizing ingredient. It also relates to a cosmetic composition comprising, as active agent, the combination of an effective amount of a hydroalcoholic extract of the pericarp of the Quinoa seed and a skin moisturizing ingredient, as well as its use to maintain and stimulate the hydration of the skin. L'invention concerne un extrait hydro-alcoolique du péricarpe de la graine de Quinoa Chenopodium Quinoa Willd, plus particulièrement les variétés Sacaca et Marangani comprenant majoritairement des composés de type saponine pour stimuler l'effet biologique d'ingrédient hydratant cutané. Elle concerne également une composition cosmétique comprenant, à titre d'agent actif, l'association d'une quantité efficace d'un extrait hydroalcoolique du péricarpe de la graine de Quinoa et d'un ingrédient hydratant cutané, ainsi que son utilisation pour maintenir et stimuler l'hydratation de la peau.
