PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact light source device which emits bright illumination light and switches colors.SOLUTION: The light source has an excitation light source and fluorescent bodies 30A, 30B, 30C. The fluorescent bodies 30A, 30B, 30C are exited by excitation light emitted by the excitation light source to emit first, second, and third fluorescence respectively. The fluorescent bodies 30A, 30B, 30C are arranged and placed in the light emission end direction so that the fluorescent body 30B may be positioned nearer the side of light emission end than the fluorescent body 30A and the fluorescent body 30C is positioned nearer the side of the light emission end than the fluorescent body 30B. The fluorescent body 30B has three through holes 32, whereas the fluorescent body 30C has three through holes 34 and three through holes 36.
