PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antiseptic method for a paper processing agent that can exhibit excellent bactericidal/antiseptic effects on a paper processing agent such as a coating material having a high pH or the like and does not adversely affect each of characteristics possessed by the paper processing agent such as color, viscosity and the like.SOLUTION: The antiseptic method for a paper processing agent comprises adding a bactericidal/antiseptic agent to a paper processing agent used in manufacturing paper or processing paper to antisepticize the paper processing agent.
