PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric toothbrush capable of accurately estimating a brushing area by a simple structure.SOLUTION: The electric toothbrush 1 includes at least a brush 210, a contact detection sensor such as an acceleration sensor, and an electrode 521, for example, disposed on the back side of a brush portion 3 for detecting the contact with the living body. The electric toothbrush 1 detects posture information of the electric toothbrush 1 based on the output of the acceleration sensor, and estimates the brushing area based on the detected posture information.
