PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleansing composition and a cleansing article which have excellent effect of removing contamination.SOLUTION: A cleansing composition contains an oil phase containing one or more oil selected from the group consisting of hydrocarbon oil, ester oil, silicon oil and waxes, an aqueous phase, particles of polycondensation polymer having closed endoplasmic reticulum formed of an amphiphilic substance which spontaneously forms a closed endoplasmic reticulum or a hydroxyl group, and is O/W type emulsion.
