The present invention relates to the use of a matrix for oral administration, in the compressed form, of Mg with progressive and continuous release, which is provided with a protective coating slowing the dissolution of Mg at the gastric level, said matrix being characterized in that it comprises, for administering (A) 90 to 110 parts by weight of magnesium, the following ingredients: (B1) 180 to 190 parts by weight of hydroxypropylmethylcellulose； (B2) 19.8 to 22.2 parts by weight of glyceryl behenate； (C1) 10 to 12 parts by weight of lactose； and (C2) 10 to 12 parts by weight of colloidal silica.
